Born and raised in the small town of Cairo, IL, thanks to my parents who loved to travel with my brothers and I, observing their God-given gifts of creativity and assisting with their successful entrepreneur endeavors, I became a dreamer and knew without a doubt that I was a "small town girl, with BIG city dreams" who wanted to use those same God-given gifts and talents to have an impact on people, places and things. At the age of 6, like my mother, I dreamt of becoming a teacher, forcing my two brothers to be my students. Following in my father's footsteps, I soon fell in love with art and graphic design. Then...at the age of 11, my mother introduce me to Ebony Fashion Fair and it change my life forever! By the age of 12, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher, mother and fashion designer! How God would combine those different dreams and passions at that time, was a mystery! However, even at an early age, my FAITH was activated. I KNEW HIM and knew that through HIM, life was full of unlimited POSSIBILITIES and  in His timing, FULFILLED DREAMS! And just like that...I graduated with an associate degree in Art and Design, a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising, journeying through many fashion-related careers, my own entrepreneur and creative endeavors and now, through God and his continued FAITHfulness,  found a way to combine my dreams and passions...I am a mother and an instructor of fashion at Southern Illinois University.

Although I am grateful for my "now," my life has been not been a fairy tale. Life begin taking a turn for me right before my freshman year of high school. My father passed away, soon followed by mother's passing during my first semester away in college and my oldest brother's passing six months later. By the time I was 21, I had lost all of my inspiration...and then a few years later, welcomed the struggle of single parenthood.

 

At that time, dealing with the unbearable pain of loss, trying to remain strong for my youngest brother and nieces left behind, becoming a single parent to my handsome baby boy Sheldon,  and a recent college grad, struggling to build a career and become financially stable, I found myself in the darkest place of my life, faithfully crying myself to sleep every night and even asking God to take my life. But, being DETERMINED to keep dreaming and realizing that God had a PURPOSE for my life and even for all of the pain, I prayed harder than ever, experiencing an encounter with JESUS that forever changed my life. In that encounter, I asked Him to help me overcome and I made a promise to Him, to dedicate my life to Him. Although, many obstacles have and still come, HE has kept his promise and has remained FAITHFUL to me! I am a firm believer that not some things, BUT ALL things are possible through Christ! I am a testimony!

 

Through all that I do, I am DETERMINED to help others DREAM and obtain the UNLIMITED, PROMISED, POSSIBILITES of Christ! It takes everyone operating "ON PURPOSE" and at their fullest capacity and capability to change the world for better! With Christ, much prayer, my story and the works of my hands, I hope and desire to INSPIRE, MOTIVATE and most importantly, EMPOWER those that I encounter to greater and a life more abundantly through and with Him! I live and walk by #BIGFAITH! For we know that without FAITH, it is impossible to please God!" So, don't mind me...I just choose to BELIEVE, DREAM and "WALK like my hips may move a few mountains!"
